Coach Dave Arnold dies aged 72

Dave Arnold, who played a key role in the development of double Olympic Champion Kelly Holmes, has died aged 72.

Dave had input in the careers of many of Kent’s top athletes but is best known for his work with Kelly. Dave coached Holmes when she first arrived at Tonbridge AC and also had input after she returned to the sport after joining the army.

Many distance runners have benefited over the years from Dave’s advice and inspiration but he was also successful at coaching sprints and jumps.
