Aarhus Action

Irish and British athletes were among those who headed for the Aarhus Games in Denmark.

Rob Tobin ran 46.01sec to win the 400m.

Jimmy Watkins won the 800m in 1min 48.30sec from another Briton, Tim Bayley.

In the 1500m Colin McCourt took second with 3min 40.42sec. Ireland’s Martin Fagan set a new personal best with his fourth placed 3min 41.89sec and Mark Christie set a season's best of 3min 42.06sec in sixth place.

Britain’s Liz Fairs won the 400m hurdles in 57.98sec.

Jermaine Mays moved up the steeplechase rankings with a 8min 31.04sec run for third place - inside the UKA Development standard for Gothenburg. Behind him in fourth place was Luke Gunn with 8min 43.89sec.

Matt Douglas was fourth in the 400m hurdles in 50.96sec while Kim Wall ran 54.26 for fifth in the women’s 400m.
