Hayley Tullett, Lisa Dobriskey and Helen Clitheroe were involved in a shambolic 1500m. After a late start the big field of 20 athletes were sent on their way. The race was won by Russian Yelena Soboleva who was credited with a time of 3min 51.8sec – hand timing after problems with the electronic timing. Ninth placed Tullett was given a time of 4min 01.3sec. Thirteenth placed Dobriskey and 17th placed Clitheroe were given times of 4min 02.4secand in 4min 05.3sec. But when electronic timings came out later on these times were revised to 3min 56.74sec for: Soboleva, a 4min 06.34sec for Tullett, 4min 07.55sec for Dobriskey and 4min 10.14sec for Clitheroe.

In the steeplechase Hatti Dean lowered her PB to 9min 51.12sec.

Marlon Devonish ran 10.16sec with a 3.4metres per second following wind in his 100m heat before clocking 10.21sec for sixth in the final. In the 200m he beat a field full of Greeks with 20.53sec – a seasons best.
