More big names have been added to the head to head between Craig Mottram and Kenenisa Bekele at the EventScotland Great Edinburgh International Cross Country.
Eluid Kipchoge and Zersenay Tadesse will also be lining up in the 9K race at Holyrood Park on 13th January.
Kipchoge, the 22-year-old Kenyan, has stunned Bekele before when beating him to the world 5K title in 2003 and Tadesse has also got huge calibre as shown by his win in the IAAF World Road Running Championship in October.
Elite athletes director Matthew Turnbull said: "Everything's starting to come together quite well and having the past two race winners going head-to-head should ensure another exciting contest.
"They've fought some great battles in the past particularly on the track.
"Tadesse of course is no stranger to Edinburgh indeed you could call him a regular, as this will be the third year in succession he's competed.
"He'll be remembered for his third place last January when he was mobbed by Eritrean supporters who travelled from all around the UK to cheer him on."
The International Association of Athletics Federations is expected to send an observer Edinburgh venue which was last month, chosen to stage the 2008 World Championships.
Gelete Burka, the World Cross Country short course champion, is returning to defend her women's title.
As well as the elite races there will be the open race of the 5K Great Winter Run and hundreds of youngsters taking on the 2.4km Tesco Junior Great Winter Run.
