Irish team for European Cross Country Champs

The team to represent Ireland in the European Cross Country Champs has been selected.

In the Under 23 category Mark Christie and Fionnuala Britton will be looking for success after wins at the National Inter Counties. Britton finished 45sec ahead of her senior rivals.

Alistair Craig and Gareth Turnbull have decided not to compete at the championships.

Gary Murray who finished 12th in last year’s race is selected as is Martin Fagan who was 16th in that race recently came fifth at the NCAAs cross country champs.

Mary Cullen is another athlete who will be looking to improve on her placing from last year.
