Gary Murray has shown he is back in top form over the cross country by finishing 2nd in a high international class field in Tilburg, Holland. The result makes Gary favourite to take the National Inter Counties Championships in a fortnight in a race that doubles as the trial for the European Championships. Murray was top Irish scorer in last year's European Championship in 12th place.
Mark Kenneally produced a fine performance to finish 7th. Joe McAllister had to settle for 20th place. In the women's race Orla O'Mahony finished 8th. The men's under 23 race saw a fantastic one-two for Ireland with the ever improving Michael Clohissey taking the win ahead of Mark Kirwan. Mark Hanrahan finished 9th with Dan Mulhare 13th. Orla Drumm was also a winner in the women's under 23 race.
In the junior women's race Sara Louise Treacy finished 4th while the men's event saw Stephen Scullion in 12th place with Craig Murphy 19th.
