Mo sets new 3K PB ahead of world 5K champ

Mo Farah has underlined his progress this year with a fantastic performance over 3K in Zagreb, Croatia.

On Thursday night the Newham & Essex Beagle took third place with 7min 38.15sec. Athletes behind him included reigning 5K World Champion Benjamin Limo who came in fifth. His run moves him to fourth on the all time list - all the more impressive running at the end of a long season.

Farah again showed tactical acumen. He moved up at the 2K mark and was not then afraid to hit the front when the pace slowed. Although Kenya’s Shadrack Korir (who won in 7min 37.50sec) and Joseph Ebuya came past in the last 200m Farah held on for third place ahead of Limo and fourth placed Ivan Hierro of Spain.
