Come and join us in what promises to be a fantastic event: the Nike Milton Keynes Half Marathon, 1st March 2008.
For those of you who are preparing for the Flora London Marathon, the event could be the ideal preparation for the ‘big one’. The half marathon is the ideal benchmark race for those wishing to run the full marathon and the Nike MK Half is at the right time prior to the London. Make the Nike MK Half a key part of your marathon training along with others faced with the same challenge in April.
The course is flat and fast, guaranteeing runners a good half marathon time to backup their training. The course will start on the roads in Milton Keynes before moving on to the wide redway cycle paths that dissect the City taking the course through areas of natural beauty and interest. The course will be well marshalled for a great running experience.
The Open University grounds will play host to the event. The OU site is only five minutes from the M1 motorway and has extensive car parking facilities within the grounds.
Milton Keynes boasts an ideal central location for many: an hour away from London on the train and alongside Junction 14 of the M1, 40 minutes from the M25 and Birmingham.
For 2007 we are introducing chip timing to the event, which will give each runner an accurate time from when you cross the Start line to when you cross the Finish line. Chip timing also makes the processing of runners through the Finish area much quicker!
