The Tour consists of five races in six days and begins on the Tuesday evening with the Science In Sport Lever Park Run. This is an event run over 10K on paths and trails through the picturesque countryside on the slopes below Rivington Pike. Wednesday is the Sweatshop / Mizuno 5 Mile Horwich Jubilee Race, the majority of which is on roads, taking in the magnificent landscape near Rivington and Anglezarke Reservoirs. Thursday sees the staging of the Walsh Two Lads Fell Race of approximately 5.25 miles. Here you run out of the historic town to the edges of the West Pennine Moors, with stunning views over the Cheshire and Fylde plains. Friday is the 4.5 mile Joseph Holt Brewery Cross-Country, an event that runs in the splendid setting of Ridgmont Park high on the slopes above the town. The Georgia Pacific Horwich Carnival Town Centre 5K is the climax of the Tour of Horwich. Competitors from all over the country and beyond will be battling it out in this unique series and the final race, the Georgia Pacific Horwich Carnival Town Centre 5K Road Race on the Sunday, will see the crowning of the overall Tour Champion plus the various age group winners. THE Horwich Carnival Races are a spectacular day of top class Running and Cycling events held in the town centre. The Horwich Carnival Races, to be staged on Horwich Carnival Sunday, June 22nd, will incorporate extremely high profile events. These include the prestigious Warburtons Northern 5K Road Race Championships. The British Masters 5K Road Championships will also see numerous current and former international athletes taking part. Many national, international and area champions will be competing in the National Ladies Circuit Championship Cycle Race. The Youths and Senior cycle races will also attract many talented riders.Runners may enter any of the Tour races separately and experience part, if not all, of the Tour atmosphere. There is an Under 17's Junior Fun Run Tour consisting of three runs. A 1 mile Fun Run precedes Wednesday’s (18th June) Jubilee Road Race and there is a Cross-Country Fun Run on the Friday (20th June) at Ridgmont Park, both runs starting at 6.45pm. The final Junior Fun Run Tour event will be a 1 lap run (approximately 1 mile) around the Town Centre on Carnival Sunday. These fun runs are open to anyone Under 17 to enter, either individually or as a complete Tour.

A five stage Tour run over six days, culminating at the Horwich Carnival Races. Tuesday 6K Trail, Wednesday 5 Mile Road, Thursday 5.25 Mile Fell, Friday 4.5 Mile XC, Sunday 5K Road.Also U17s Fun Run Tour. Three 1 Mile Fun Runs held on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.Great Atmosphere.
