Competitive athlete heart rate calculator

This test is only suitable for experienced athletes. You should be able to compete over 10M and half marathon races before doing this test. Your physician or doctor should also be satisfied that you are fit to complete this test.

The Test

In training run 5 x 1 mile off 2min rest at your CURRENT 10M to half marathon race pace. Record your heart rates during your mile efforts. Use this in the box below

Please Note:
  • The heart rate given is NOT your peak heart rate during session.
  • Do NOT use your PB pace unless you are currently in Personal Best shape
  • Do NOT take you heart rate from racing a 10M or half marathon as this will be affected by other factors (including higher adrenaline levels)
  • Do NOT run the session flat out - you should be running at 10M to half marathon race pace. Given the recovery this should be fairly controlled.
