Be productive - make an appointment with rest
Pick up a dictionary. Look up words such as rest, recovery, sleep, eating, socialising and recreation. You will clearly see they do NOT mean the same as free time, space for extra activities, or times I’m available. Yet whenever something crops up these are very often the things that we scrub out to create ‘time’. But being busier means we need more rest. Added pressure means healthy eating becomes more important rather than less. Extra stress increases the importance of time with friends and family. So don’t just scrub these to make room for extra activities. Be more systematic. Go through and decide what the least important thing in your diary is. Get rid of that. Make a conscious decision and prioritise all your activities rather than taking the simple option.
